Jim Myers

Jim has been an active participant in blockchain for several years. At one point, he even used Bitcoin to purchase real products, thinking it was "neat". In retrospect, this wasn't so neat. Previously, Jim was the head of engineering at Mylestone, a company he co-founded in early 2016. Before Mylestone, Jim led the research and development of patent-pending skill recommendation algorithms at Pluralsight. He joined Pluralsight in 2014, following the acquisition of Smarterer, a machine learning-based skill assessment company. At Smarterer, Jim was an early engineer who built advanced machine learning technology and enterprise software adopted by Fortune 100 companies. Jim's passion for building extends to the broader startup community through his developer event series, Stack Dive, and as an angel investor to several local startups, including AdHawk and LinkSquares. In another life, Jim developed advanced models to quantify risk and abnormal returns in the market for Financial Transmission Rights, a type of energy derivative.

Eric Stone

Eric Stone leads all algorithm development and data science initiatives at Flipside Crypto. He has nearly a decade of experience as a Data Science executive, most recently as Lead Data Scientist for Product at Pluralsight and before that, Smarterer, where he led Data Science until the company's acquisition by Pluralsight in 2014. Prior to Smarterer, Eric was a government spy, and he built algorithms to predict geo-political events. He also spent a number of years developing swing-trading algorithms for hedge funds and was a Fellow at Temple University, where he pursued a PhD in statistics from 2010 to 2012, spending his summers at the USDA's statistics service writing models to get farmers to answer more surveys.

Dave Balter

Dave Balter is currently CEO of Flipside Crypto, which provides business intelligence for blockchain organizations. Previously I led the Transactions (M&A and Partnerships) Team at Pluralsight, which I joined via the acquisition of Smarterer, a venture backed skills assessment startup I co-founded in 2010 and led as CEO since 2013. I founded BzzAgent in 2001, a social marketing company that accelerates word of mouth to drive sales. BzzAgent was acquired in 2011 by dunnhumby, a division of Tesco PLC. Post acquisition, I acted as Global Head of Investments for dunnhumby and served on the organization's Global Executive Team until late 2013, when I stepped down to focus full time on Smarterer. I founded dunnhumby Ventures during my tenure at dunnhumby. In 2016, I was named one of 30 Most Disruptive People in Boston Tech by Boston Magazine. In 2009 I was a Finalist (darn) for E&Y Entrepreneur of the year. In 2008, I was recognized as a Future Legend by the Ad Club. In 2007, Harvard University dubbed me one of Boston’s “Hottest Technology CEOs.” I co‐founded the Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) in 2004, and authored two books on the subject, Grapevine and The Word of Mouth Manual: Volume II.
